At 29 I may not
have heart disease and no, I'm not overweight. So why did I sign up for
CHIP? As the mother of two small children, I was feeling exhausted a lot of
the time. I had frequent headaches and just felt yucky and slow. Feelings of
depression often surfaced making me feel even worse. So I felt CHIP may have
something for me.
Now that I have finished the program, I must share that it definitely met my
expectations. It was wonderful to learn how the body works and what foods
help it to perform at its best. The program focuses on total health, not
just losing weight. We learned a new way of eating and the importance of
exercise, among a lot of other things. It does take some work to make these
lifestyle changes, but it was not as hard as I expected it to be.
It was, and is, exciting to try new recipes and know that I am feeding my
body the fuel it was made to run on. But the best part is that I feel so
much better. My headaches are gone (probably due to exercise and cutting out
some headache triggers) and I have more energy. It is steady energy
throughout the day: no more blood sugar highs and lows. I am less irritable
and feel clearer and cleaner. I truly am more chipper! It feels good knowing
that starting to implement these lifestyle changes at my age greatly
improves my chance of avoiding some serious diseases down the road. I highly
recommend this program.
